Chaya Sorscher-Levi is an ASHA certified auditory-verbal, speech language pathologist and audiologist with over 15 years of experience. She earned her Master’s Degree in Audiology from Brooklyn College in 1999, and is licensed in speech language pathology and audiology in NY and in NJ, as well as by the American Speech and Hearing Association. She obtained her LSLS certification in auditory verbal therapy from the AG Bell Academy in 2007. She has pursued training in different approaches to remediating articulation disorders including PROMPT Level Two.
Chaya has provided speech/language therapy within a wide variety of settings, including schools, clinics and in private homes through the NY State and NJ State Early Intervention home based Programs. She has experience treating children with disorders in language, auditory processing and articulation. She specializes in working with infants, children and adults with hearing aids and/or cochlear implants. Chaya consults in several schools offering training for members of staff who are working with hearing impaired students. She has also presented workshops to teachers, parents, and speech/language pathologists on the topic of auditory verbal therapy and hearing impaired children.
Before starting her own practice, Chaya worked with children with hearing impairments and other disorders for Perri Hecht Speech and Auditory Services for close to ten years.
